Kitka presents: Hasmik Harutyunyan’s Wintersongs Offering

A Medley of Armenian Christmas Carols

Hasmik Harutyunyan has dedicated her life to preserving endangered Armenian folk songs. She is renowned for her work with Yerevan’s Shoghaken Ensemble and for her mellifluous renditions of Armenian lullabies, one of the most ancient and evocative genres in Armenian music. Her quietly passionate interpretations of traditional melodies from historical villages across the Armenian plateau offer a mesmerizing glimpse into a lost world. Hasmik has been Kitka’s mentor in traditional Armenian song, dance, and cooking since 2008.

Kitka will be sharing all donations in response to this offering with Gateway Industry, an NGO providing critical humanitarian aid for the war-torn communities and populations of Armenia. (http://www.gatewayindustry.org)
