Household Harmonies with Hannah Levy 2/21/21

In these difficult and often isolating times, singing in harmony is strangely both one of the more dangerous activities we can do in person, and yet one of the very most nourishing for feeling connected in our shared humanity.

Fortunately, we don’t have to choose between safe social distancing and harmony singing! This workshop series aims to arm you with songs to sing with those around you.

Round up your household or social bubble, whoever that may be - family, friends, roommates, pod-mates - and join in learning songs of long life, health and prosperity. If you’re stuck together, you might as well sing together, and since we’re singing, we might as well call in all the joy and good fortune we can!

This series welcomes singers of all ages, all genders, all geographies, and all levels of experience. All workshops will be held on the Zoom platform. Zoom links and song materials will be shared with all registrants.

Tuition for the full 4-workshop series is $60-$160 per adult, sliding scale. 4-workshop series tuition for kids (accompanied by an adult) is $20.

Tuition for individual workshops is $15-$40 per adult, sliding scale, and $5 for kids (accompanied by an adult).

ABOUT THE SONG LEADER

A graduate of the California Jazz Conservatory, Hannah Levy first fell in love with singing thanks to her middle school choir director Penny Shultz, who encouraged her to sing loud and strong and always made space for joy. She attended Village Harmony summer camps as a teenager, where she was exposed to masters of polyphonic tradition from many corners of the globe. Since joining Kitka in 2016 she has deepened her study and profound appreciation for Kitka’s chosen repertoires, finding particular excitement in styles from the republic of Georgia. She is always delighted for an opportunity to pay forward some of the expertise she has been generously handed down by her dear teachers, mentors and friends. An enthusiastic teacher, Hannah prioritizes sustainable singing techniques and full body expression.
