The Garden of Memory is a popular summer solstice festival featuring simultaneous performances in the many chapels and courtyards of the beautiful The Chapel of the Chimes columbarium. Dozens of Bay Area musicians, composers, and sound artists present an astonishing variety of acoustic and electronic music performances, installations, and interactive events throughout the building. Getting lost is part of the experience as guests climb up and down the three floors through a maze of gently illuminated gardens, cloisters, alcoves, stairwells, fountains and other architectural elements which rise into vaulted ceilings created by notable architects including Julia Morgan.
