Eastern European Vocal Skills Lab with Caitlin Tabancay Austin
The Lab is a small, intermediate to advanced group workshop series for singers who wish to develop their ensemble skills in a supportive and challenging environment. Each class includes ear training and vocal exercises, with special attention to close listening and body awareness.
Previous experience with Eastern European folk singing is helpful but not required. Singers will learn music both by ear and with Western music notation. Some fundamentals of music reading will be covered in rehearsal. This semester will focus on music from Bulgaria and the Republic of Georgia. Some class time will be devoted to small sectional work.
ENROLLMENT IN THE LAB IS BY AUDITION OR INVITATION ONLY.
Successful applicants must be able to sing alone on a part.
Sign up for an audition time or audition via email (see details below.)
Please note: Vocal Lab is on "pause", but will continue in 2017.
