Dynamic composer and performer Mariana Sadovska combines a love of the traditional songs, stories and rituals of her native Ukraine with a cosmopolitan, experimental sensibility, creating solo and chamber works of "pure vitality" (New York Times). She is joined for part of her set by beloved Bay Area women's vocal ensemble KITKA, for selections from her Ukrainian Callings series, based on a collection of songs she learned from rural Ukrainian women.
