After ten years as Smuin’s Choreographer in Residence, master dance maker and new artistic director of Sacramento Ballet Amy Seiwert returns with a thrilling world premiere titled Renaissance. Set to the prerecorded music of Oakland-based group Kitka, a women’s a cappella vocal ensemble, Seiwert’s Renaissance explores music from Eastern European traditions as it honors the strength of community and women standing together.
